Home...everything I need is right here

One of the bummers about wanting to get published is they dont want you to post your work online first. Well not all magazines but most. So I must admit I am holding back some work. I did manage to pull this one out, I forgot I had it. I used a sketch from Page Maps. I had so much fun with these papers - they WERE black and white! It is from GCD 's Paris line and some of it is even flocked! I love texture!

I changed the colors of my papers with Distress Inks and a blending tool!! Ever since I bought that little tool I want to ink everything! I used Peeled Paint and Broken China. I also used this technique on my journaing strips.

I even changed the color of my bling- but for this I used Alcohol Inks!
On a different note you still have time to enter  the challenges at Scrapbooking From The Inside Out
Here is challenge number 2:

You've got to follow your passion. You've got to figure out what it is you love--who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams. Oprah Winfrey

Passion is the genesis of genius. Anthony Robbins

Drive: In a perfect world, we’d all get to create a life that beautifully represents our passions. Do you do a job, or do you spend your days, in a way that truly speaks to your passions? If not, why? How did you get to do what you do? Did you follow your inner voice, or did someone else tell you what you should be? What pushes you to create a career, or life, that you love? When did you start to hear that inner voice? If you don’t hear it, how do you feel about people who have that drive and pursue it?

For our next challenge, tell us about whether what you do all day (career, homemaker...) reflects your passions. If not, what's stopping you from achieving that?

Also Don't Forget March 6th! Important date to check for this giveway!
Each comment you make on post from February 18-March 5th gives you another chance to win.

Feeling lucky? Cricut give away...(closed)

Scrapbooking From The Inside Out
Challenge #3
Devotion: The people in our lives who stay close to us benefit from a level of devotion, dedication and focus that is unique to them. What makes the one you choose ‘the ones’? Are the ones you’re devoted to your family, friends, or both? What about these people makes you devoted to them…is it a reciprocal love, or one that is more selfless, with less expectation? Does the length of the relationship have an impact on the level of your devotion to them, or theirs to you? Are you good at choosing the right ones to be devoted to?

Please create a LO about those you love most - friends, family or both? Why them, really?

Well for me that would be family and friends! These are only three of our five children. We are blessed to have them in our lives. We are also lucky(blessed) to have people in our lives that we considered to be both! How does that saying go? "Friends ar the family we pick for ourselves..."

When things happen you really find out who your friends are...That being said I want to give you a little progress report. One of our guys was diagnosed with Tardive Dyskinesia and I had ask for prayer on this post . I want you to know that God answers prayer! It is not permanent, he is getting better everyday! He is going to have to work very hard just to back to where he was before this all started but he is on the mend! No tics, outbursts are almost non existant, no odd mouth movements and he is sleeping peacefully again!

So I want to say thank you friends for your prayers and your encouraging words, I made this for you...

It is filled with my gratitude. Thank you, you made a difference in a childs life.

Unforgettable Girl and a giveaway(closed)

I am so lovin' this Alice in Wonderland stuff! I put this wall hanging together today! Of course I made it for my oldest as she loves AIW! I started with a Vintage Postage kit from Crafty Secrets; that's where the image and the shaped chipboard came from. The journaling is an email from Melody Ross' Brave girls, perfect for my daughter.

I printed the journal on GCD paper. I also stamped  a couple of images from my AIW stamps. I cut and mounted all the images. The flowers ar Prima.

Here is the whole project!

Now lets talk about give aways... Yesterday I showed you the first thing I am going to give away March 6th and here is the second...I hope you like KaiserCraft!

Hello Friends. hey guess what? In all the CHA excitement I forgot that it has been one year since I started this blog! So I am thinking we need to celebrate! When I started this blog I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with it but I did want to get on a design team...done it!  I wasn't even sure anyone would read my blog  and I am so excited to have 77 freinds following my blog! I have made so many new friends online and I think that enough is reason to celebrate!

I am thinking a giveaway...

Added a little quilling- I never would have pictured myself quilling but I actually love it! I love doing these pictures right now- here the earth is covered with snow and I am so tired of it!

So I have some things laying around ...umm, like this..

Awww Happy Valentines Day!

Here is my last layout for this months "Passion" kit at Scrapbooking From The Inside Out . Perfect for Valentines Day! The paper is Prima and the picture is a few years old but man is it hard to get hubby in a picture!

I wanted you to see the glitter I captured at this angle, I love glitter!

I used vellum to print my journaling as well as inks on the edges and paint behind so you can read it easier.

I am very blessesed to have a fully supportive hubby...

You can't have a valentine without a heart...The feathered wings was a Christmas ornament I picked up one year at Hobby Lobby. I took the chipboard heart and ran it through my Cuttlebug, used inks to color it in and edge the embossd pieces!
***
I did recieve roses today but today my favorite valentine came from my 6 year old, night owl.

His teacher said he wrote it all by himself, it says...
"Dear mom, I will love you.
I love you because you took me to the doctors
and you took me home and you gave me a surprize.
I love you so that it almost breaks my heart.
I love my mother.
love ____.
XOXO"

How sweet is that!

Alice in Wonderland

One of the things I like to do when I am stressed or feel like I'm in a slump is do something totally different.  At CHA I met my new friend Vicki Chrisman and she designed this very cool shadowbox diecut for Accucut. She gave me one to see what I could come up with and I personally love a challenge! You can see Vickis fabulous designs at http://vickichrisman.blogspot.com/

One of my daughters favorite books had always been Lewis Carrolls "Alice in Wonderland", you can imagine her excitment when she found out that that Johnny Depp is starring as the Mad Hatter in Disneys remake of Alice in Wonderland! (A very important date is March 5.2010! Don't be late!)

You can imagine my delight when I saw these stamps at CHA from
Clear Art Stamps!

These are so fun!
I had to have them to create this magical project for my daughter!

In addition to the shadow box made out of cardstock and stamps,I used all GCD Studios paper and embellsihments. The ribbon is Websters, I made the little tags and I have had that little bottle in my stash forever! Perfect for the theme!

( I dumped it as soon as I was done taking pictures-  I used Windex to get the color; definately NOT drinkable!)

I used lots of Glimmer Mists, Stickles and a glaze pen.
The white rabbit and some cards...

Isn't she great? This was so fun and (bonus) daughter loved it!
As a matter of fact baby girl wanted it in her room but my oldest said "no way!"
SO for my oldest and for you, here's an early Valentine for you!

Let me know what you think! Have a wonderful weekend!

"Yours" and whats happening online this weekend!

I love scrapping music, not just any music but music that moves me. This is from a song by JJ Heller called "Painted Red". Everytime I listen to it I am completely moved, you can listen to it here. I first heard this song from her called "Your hands" on the radio and loved what it had to say. I also want to do a layout with her song "Love me". You should listen to these songs!

These papers are from Februarys "passion "kit at Scrapbooking From The Inside Out .

Now I must be honest with everything going on with my son, scrapping has not been my priority but I had to share this weeks Your Lifetime Story challenge at  Faith Sisters! I really want to do this one, when you read it you'll know why...

Most of the beliefs we have are highly influenced by the beliefs of our ancestors. Sometimes we decide to go our own way and find our own spiritual path.

This challenge is to scrap the heritage of your faith, where it all began for your family. If your ancestors emigrated from another country, from where did they come from? When? Where did they settle and why? Whether you document the start of your religion in your family history or the start of your own journey of faith, document your religious heritage and share it here with us in our gallery.

So there you have it!
What will you be doing this weekend? I am hoping for some scrappy time.
Remember I have one more layout to share!
I hope you will stop by!
