Manic Mondays Operation Clean Up Continues! 7

Do you want to see whats in my purse?

Sure you do! But instead I am going to show you whats inside my cabinets!
Back to business! Operation Cleanup! My scrapbook room organization continues!
Today I will share with you wall one!
I have digitally labeled each drawer and cabinet
in case you want to see where everything goes!

My first two drawers are full of embellishments - I would love to say they are all in there

but they are not, there are odd things that don't really go into any collection.
These plastic white cubbies interlock and actually have little clear drawers, I got them years

ago from Roberts Crafts store but I don't remember the manufacturer. I put that
rubber skid resistant  stuff underneath so they wont slid around in the drawer.

This is my favorite drawer! I call it my texture drawer!
All my pastes, spackle, anything to make textures!

This is all my back stock of adhesives, I use an ATG
gun that is stored elsewhere - I use this at home and
Glue Glider Pro that I use when I travel. I love them
both but as you can imagine I go through A LOT of adhesive!
It gets expensive and I hate running out in the middle of a project!
For liquid my favorite is Scrap Happy Glue.

 Fiber anyone?
I saw this idea somewhere online years ago
I cut those plastic containers (art bin I think?) and lined
them up in the drawer. I like things by color so I know right
where to go to find it! Anything to do with sewing goes in here!
All my photo paper and ink goes in this drawer.
Remember I said color - my ribbons are in here, sorted by color.
Now sad to say this is not ALL my ribbon, this is just the small width ribbons.
They are rolled up on small wooden old fashioned clothespins.
The top shelf has back up photo CD's, the box has all my warranties
and instruction manuals to any tools in my scrapbook room.

Here are the photos that were printed before I started
printing pictures myself and scrap booking. Also pictures that other people

have given to me. I am not unorganized - family pictures are organized by date,
or person if they are doubles, some are separated by themes like the BK years...you know

BEFORE KIDS!
Here are all things Cricut and Sizzix.
The top wooden drawer has wooden letters in it.
The sheet on the left is a cheat sheet for all the settings for my Cricut.
These boxes are from the old scrapbook room that was orange (love that color.)
The top shelf is papers by  different manufacturers,
the second shelf is collections I put together for future albums. (Including the album.)
The bottom has a box for my receipts, behind  it are large empty boxes for future use!
Dun dun dun...
(are you feeling the old time horror flick music?)
I know this looks crazy but in here, is anything that I could possibly alter!
Seems chaotic but it's kinda like a treasure trove of junk that
I can pull from when I need an item to alter or have a stuck moment and
need to do something different.
I promise all my other drawers and cabinets look organized - there
were so many weird shaped things that I really could not find an
easy way to store this and keep all these items in one place. So until
I find another way to do this I am good with it. It works for me
and that really is the bottom line - it has to work for you, if it doesn't change it!
Are you organizing your place?
I wanna see!

P.S. thanks for the well wishing! I am better, then baby girl got sick,
now hubby is sick! I have some blog catching up to do,
I promise I will make the rounds soon!

so I thought I would post something that I had posted elsewhere but forgot
to post on my blog.  These cards are sooo fun, from Clear Scraps!

I think that your first instinct is to completely cover
the card but I couldn't help but leave it, just keeping it sweet & simple!
Papers are Ta Da Creative Studios!

Whats going on online?

How about a DT call at Scrapbooking From the Inside Out?
This was one of the first DT's I was on and it really helped me grow, the kits are fantastic

The Sunfairy

 Hey there bloggers!
Todays project was inspired by one of my followers
"Sunfairy" - isn't that a great online name? For the longest time I wanted to
do something artsy with that and I finally did it!
She is a super sweet lady and I hope she is blessed by this project!
As you can tell I love MiXeD MeDia!
Today I want to focus on a fun technique you might use on one of your projects!
If you click on the photo and make it bigger
take a close look at my sleeping fairy wings!
See how they pop out on the page?
Here is how I did it...

First I drew the basics of my page.

Then I took a Clear Scraps acrylic sheet, placed it over my image and copied
the wings with a permanent marker. The sheet has a protective film on top
so I was able to draw on the film not leaving any marks on the
the actual wings. This sheet is fairly thin and pliable so I was able to
cut it out with a scissors, then remove the top side of the film.
( I always leave the bottom film on while I am working on my surface.)

I used Scrap Happy Glue on the edges and let it dry completely.
This is important, otherwise you will have a big mess on your hands!
(And it will peel off! Boo!)
After the glue is completely dry you can add "You're so fine glitter"
in copper; you are rubbing in the glitter with your finger.

This is what it will look like.  From here I peeled off the film
on the back and used alcohol inks,
but you could leave it this way or use rub ons.

Here is the finished result!
To secure her wings I cut a slit in the paper above her,
tucked in the wings and glued it in with a scrap paper
sandwhiching (is that a word?lol)
the the wings for extra support.
And a close up of the journaling...

This would be a fun technique for angel, ladybugs, dragonflies,
you could even stamp on the acrylic and do this same technique-
but that's another post! :)

Manic Mondays Operation Clean Up Part 6

Making Progress!!!
Hey there bloggers! If you haven't been here in a while or are new to my blog
I have committed to cleaning up and organizing my scrapbook room
and posting about it on Mondays! (You can check out Part 1 here !)
Here is a quick video scanning the room and the improvements so far!

There is still alot to be done and here are some details...

If you see my previous posts (in the videos) - this little frame (Hobby Lobby) had
hot pink  with white polka dots in the center. This was a quick and easy change!
I painted the pink fabric with white and covered it with this fabric canvas (you
could see the hot pink through the fabric hence the white paint!)!
The frame was tight so I just tucked in the edges.  I like this much better!

This was a large empty frame and I originally
I was thinking about putting chicken wire in it but
went with fabric covered cork board instead,
I think I made the right choice! I got the frame on clearance
(Hobby Lobby), I used a large piece of cardboard & adhesive to hold the
cork board squares (Target) into place. Then I covered it with the fabric,
stapled it to the cardboard and nailed it to the back of the frame.

Here is a close up of the tags, I bought some cute scallop labels
but they were too "cute" in the space and went with something a little more toned down.
I would like to get a few more of those canvas bins (Home Goods) to replace some of the
mismatch ones I still have. The black bins are wash tubs and they fit perfectly
in my (IKEA Expedit) cubbies.
I hope you are inspired to do something with YOUR workspace!
If you do I would LOVE to see it! Leave me a link!

For my drawing (previous post) for free Gelatos!!!!

Hope you are having a wonderful day!

The Rubber Cafe & Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog HOP!

Hey there bloggers! Today I am participating in a blog hop

So if you came from Bonnie's blog you are in the right place!
If you are checking out my blog and want to start
at the beginning of the hop go to The Rubber Cafe Blog!
I had the pleasure of using silky crush ribbon
in white because I didn't know what I was going to do with it but then
a friend recently sent me this dress form (Thanks M!) so I went with this!

First I drew on the ribbon with Gelatos.
Then I misted them with water and blended the color together with a paint brush.
EASY!  I waited for it to dry and it was the perfect finishing touch on my dress!
Isn't it gorgeous!
To get the design on the body of the dress I used the floral Heart stamp,
Limeade Green and Scrap Happy Glue.
While the paper was wet I formed it to the body.
 I love the end result!

Thanks for stopping by and just for being a follower
of my blog I am going to give away to one lucky person a four pack of Gelatos!
Just leave me a comment on this post and let me know you are a follower.
(Be sure to check back on Monday to see if you won!)
Your next stop on the blog hop is

Playing with COLOR!

I am so excited to share some news with you today!
Here's a hint- it has to do with this album!

April 2012 091
Spring is in the air and color is everywhere!
Especially in this clear butterfly album !
OK well maybe just blues and yellows...

April 2012 092
The butterfly on the left is the back of the cover.
Using gesso directly on the acrylic made for some really fun textures;
then I added color!
A close up...

April 2012 096
I had so much fun using gesso, stencils, paints and Gelatos!
A close up...

April 2012 098Here I had fun with iredescant medium!
(Then color!)
Close up...

April 2012 101All of these pages would provide great backgrounds for a mini album,
an art journal, or even just the way it is!

And the back cover...
April 2012 103
This was a happy accident- I started one way then changed
 and went a different way...
Actually a few pages in this albumwere happy accidents!
Which just goes to show , sometimes you just have to run with it!
Close up...

Here is the butterfly album I used from Clear Scraps!
I hope this inspires you to go create with some color!

Oh did I forget to mention my news?
I got a new badge...
I am super excited to be one of the instructors chosen for the new Art Studio at SNR!
