Ode to Graphic 45

Hello bloggers! Oh my goodness I have been busy, new state, new schools for the kids, new home shopping and scrapping my little heart out at the kitchen table! I know, I haven't been able to show you alot but maybe this post will make up for it!!! Everything on this page contains something from Graphic 45!

First of all did you know that Graphic 45 had stamps? Aren't these fairies adorable? I had to buy them and make something special with them! If you want to make these keep an eye out at Design Memory Craft - I used lots of Faber-Castell products!
 Another view...

Next here is my firstborn lookin' fabulous. Lots of cutting, lots of shading, coloring, layering...I am loving this line! The bottom blue paper is Pink Paislee painted with Gellatos.
The frame is from Ranger, I used Gellatos in top and after covering the little fairy I filled the frame with Glossy Accents.
Can you believe that this beauty was ever insecure?
Silly girl!
Next my son, a couple of years ago using the Proper Gentleman line from Graphic 45.
When I saw this paper I knew exactly what photo I would use! This was my sons first dance.
I thought he looked very handsome- old school, gotta love it!
Together... the babies, my babies, getting so big! This is a current photo of my littlest ones.
Baby girl is making them pose with her - they crack me up!
I used a little black paint to break up the pattern and added Shimmerz on top in 4 Leaf Clover, which happens to match the paper perfectly!
This was a fun project to make! I think would look fabulous in a black frame
hanging in my scrapbook room....as soon as the house is built! LOL!
***
I used  Shimmerz Spritz in 4 leaf clover on the wings, added Stickles.
I love using texture paste, I mixed it with bronze paint and embedded some metal pieces.
I used my finger to swipe a little bronze paint and
Gellatos on the metal wing (Tim Holtz) and the word ''Create''.
I mixed some of the paint with the paste and then went back
and brush more paint on top to get variation on the texture..

Hmm Looking at this post reminds me that I still don't have any current pics
of hubby and myself for this frame...
Gotta work on that! Anniversary is coming up soon - 20 years!

A close up of Baby Girl...sitting with angels!

And a little present for me...
I made this for myself as I lost my favorite necklace at the airport (CHA) when I had to take it off for the metal detectors! I forgot to pick it up out of the bin. I looked for something similar but didn't find one I liked and then I thought about making this! I used small stickers and images from Graphic 45 with charms I got at Hobby Lobby. I filled the frames with Glossy Accents. Some of those "charms" are images on top of Grungeboard covered with Glossy Accents!
A quick little acrylic tag using Artist Spackle, some embellishments, an acrylic tag
from Clear Scraps, Shimmerz, some embellishments and  Graphic 45!!

And last but not least the album I still need to fill. Made with this really fun line of papers I manipulated with paint to suit my needs on an album from Clear Scraps.

I have lots more to share with you the next few days, starting later today with a ed. video for Shimmerz!
Thanks for stopping by!

TGIF!

You probably are thinking what is this on Rita's blog!!! LOL! This is what I've been up to... house stuff! We have been looking and looking and finally decided to go with a  new home. It will take a little longer to get in there but we are so excited! This is what the front of the house will look like but in these colors...

 The bathrooms...

The living room and kitchen...(Hardwood floors living room, tile in the kitchen Black Granite slabs on the counters and island!)

Oh and this is my favorite of everything I picked - this is slate that will surround the fireplace!! It has this iridescent shimmer(hello you know I had to add some Shimmer in here somewhere!) thing going on, plus texture and color! Love  it!!
 Doorknobs...
 Some lighting...

What I dont have a picture of is the backyard patio and fireplace that goes out there! Thats going to be pretty amazing too! Now of course I have been scrapping in between all the house appointments but you will have to wait until Monday for reveals! LOL!
Here is a little something I made for Faber-Castell!!!
I used their Gellatos and metallic markers on the canvas and sprayed the girl and moon image (Crafty Secrets) with Shimmerz   to give it that sparkle every girl deserves!

Mr. Independence

Hey guys Rita Barakat here!
Presidents day always brings to mind the good ol' red, white and blue!
And although my layout isn't about Presidents day, it  shows how versatile patriotic paper can be.
This layout was made with Ta Da Creative Studios Festivus Collection!  The blue laser cut paper is called "Kaboom" in the oooh La La Layers and I cute the stars and borders by hand from the Star Spangled Banner paper. Behind the laser cut paper is from the Jolly Holy days collection - I used the back side of the "Hung with Care" paper.
And if you're wondering, yes, that is my son holding worms! EEEEWW!
Here's an added bonus for ya...
Saw these today and snapped a couple of photos.
Even on a big town, you can still find small town charm. Happy Presidents Day!

Oh And today we signed papers for a new house that we are building right outside of Dallas...
Yes, that sign says SOLD. We are very excited.

In my arms...

What can you do with
one piece of white cardstock,
one picture and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft
supplies???

A layout made for my baby girl. The journal is a song from Plumb called "In my arms".
It has such beautiful lyrics I had to illustrate them on a layout...
I used Gelatos, Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils, PITT® Artist Pens...

I think I will challenge myself again to use only my art supplies and a clean piece of cardstock, this was fun.

Speaking of challenges, are you up for one?
If so ScrapGal is having a CROP this weekend! so come join us!
They have lots of prizes including a QuickKuts letterpress combo kit!

also  if you go to GCD Studios

you could win!

Beautiful

Time flies.
Seriously.
I can't believe it's been a year since I got on the GCD Studious Facebook team.
Well the year is almost over and I have a few layouts to share in the next few days.
This is one of the three that I did for GCD Studios and was on display in the GCD Studios booth at CHA! This is from CHA called Material Girls by Heather Tozzi. I also used the chip art tools. Here is a close up...

I had fun with my Shimmerz and the chipboard shapes (I used gesso first on the chipboard). I also had fun quilling and using my new Tim Holtz die for the base of the flowers. Baby girl is getting so big!

I also can't believe it's been a month since we moved to TX! It seems like we just got here! Now that the weather is back to normal I am totally loving it! Beautiful days! And we found a house! Yay! With a BIG yard! Yay! Wed is the inspection, hoping everything goes well. Worst case scenario we move again at the end of March.(Hopefully sooner!) Meanwhile the kids are adjusting very well and making new friends.
One of my boys got this yesterday!

Hubby and I had had a good laugh,,,umm did I menton he is 7 and this is one of his classmates?
