Need a gift? Mini's!

What can you do with these? How about some mini albums? I got these at Target in the dollar section! I love mini albums because they are so quick and easy to make! All you need are some scraps!
These are left over form my first DT layouts at Ta Da Creative Studios!

Cut your 12x12 paper in threes.

Double check to make sure they fit - you might have to trim a little. I had to use a corner rounder punch for my tins but 3inches was perfect! I folded the paper accordian style and trimmed off any excess. Here's what I ended up with!

.

As you can see you don't need a whole lot of stuff for these cute mini's. the pics take center stage easy!!!!
Very fun and the ladies they went to loved them!

Grandpa...JUNE 22, GCD POST

And with June being Fathers day I chose to honor my father in law. He passed away when my two oldest were little. I wish all of my kids could have grown up with their grandpa but at least I have pictures to share with them. Here is my oldest son with grandpa right before he passed away…

I used several pattern papers from the Melody Ross Artsy Urban Collection and the Homespun Chic Collection. Isn’t that tin totally cute? Also GCD of course! (The rub ons are from K&CO – I’ve had them in my stash for a long time so don’t ask me what collection! LOL!)

And the journaling…

He was so great with the kids; I know they all would have loved him! I especially love the expression on my son’s face!

The picture is very old and small so I couldn’t blow it up but I think it’s important to scrapbook those special people in our lives even if we don’t have a great photo! Happy Scrapping!

This day...

Hello friends! I have been busy, busy, busy creating such fun things that I can't reveal yet but they are coming soon I promise. In the meantime I figured I'd share a little something that is not new but I had not put on my blog! This is actually one of my favorite lo's of baby girl. I can't believe that after this summer she will be starting kindergarden! It seems like yesterday I did this lo! *sigh*
I actually used two sheets of the same line to create this lo. I did a lot of cutting and layering with foam dots. This is an overlay on top of the picture.
I used a lot of inks, for accents and to draw out the orange in her shirt.
I inked the bottom half of the letters here.

                                                                   ***supplies***
Pattern paper is “Perfect Harmony Hadley” by Daisy Bucket, clouds were cut from the “Twitterpated” collection by Imaginisce, alphas and brads are from Making Memories. Two chipboard flowers are from Fancy Pants. Stickles glitter from Ranger. Pearls are Kaisercraft. The wide ribbon is from Offray, the others are unknown. Inks are from Colorbox and Dew Drop. The pearls on fish string are from Wilton. The brown cardstock is Bazzil and the background mat on the picture is from American Crafts. Overlay on the picture is from Best Creation.

On a different subject you have until Friday the 25th to enter the Scavenger Hunt giveaway at  Clear Scraps

When one door closes...part II

A little about me today! Hello fellow scrappers! Today I thought I'd share a little about me - I made these for a challenge but never got around to put them on my blog. These are acyrlic ATC's from Clear Scraps and each one tells a little about me...

What is an ATC? ATC stands for Altered Trading Card, a miniature work of art meant to trade ideally in person; on the back is the signature, date, and number (if it is part of an edition)

What size is an ATC? 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm

You can see that this is a small simple size, a great way to try something new!
For these cards I was trying to tell about myself without using words.

For the first card you can tell that I love music, and I believe in God.I am always expecting a miracle.

On the the next card you can see that I love the color orange and vintage like items. I also love words and reading. I love to teach as well.

As a matter of fact I am teaching a class right for teens called "Square Foot Scrapbooking" (as in 'what can you say in one square foot?') brought to you  from Scrapbooking From The Inside Out, we're launching a full program for teens to develop self-esteem through scrapbooking their emotions in a safe and creative environment.

Which leads me to "When one door closes another door opens" I shared this lo with you...

And this is what I was talking about, I have been on the DT at Scrapbooking From The Inside Out for a year and have moved from the DT to the mangement team as the coordinator on this project! I will miss being on the DT but am so excited about this new venture!!!

The third one seems self explanitory but if you look closely you will see that the surface has been changed, some areas are rough and some are smooth, it represents that I have changed because if the family and friends I have and for that, I am truly grateful.

I hope you are inspired to try some ATC's!

Hey hey it's Friday and I am keeping up with the BLOG!
Woo hooo!

I have been so busy with this fabulous new team! These are a few of my first layouts for  Momenta! I have a ton of stuff under wraps that I can't share yet but I will share what I can! :) Here is the journal up close!
A little close up...Aren't those birds so super cute!!!??
Well in checking over my blog I see that a few days ago I don't know what I was thinking when I posted "Summer, it's a beautiful thing". The pic was average at best so I must revisit this issue and post these pics...

Another two page layout. (Click on them to see them bigger, much better)
Close ups (which in my delirium I did not post before)
So there you have it! Momenta, pretty cute papers!
Gotta love it, have a wonderful weekend!
Oh I almost forgot! Don't forget you can still win GCD papers by making a project with masking on it and leaving me a link in the comments!
AND check back on Monday for a chance to win something else!!!!!!

Hmmm Cards...

Hello friends! Today I have a couple of cards to share with you. WARNING! Cards are not my strong point but if I don’t work on them I won’t get better at them, right? Also with my oldest graduating from High School I have lots of thank you notes to make and send out! Ok! So here they are…

I used the Artsy Urban Collection by Melody Ross – GCD Studios for both cards. I wanted to do something different so for the pink card I used a sticky rub on (We Are Memory Keepers) and silver foil. It was pretty enough…

But I wanted it to really pop so I used some pink spray mist and misted right over the foil!

I love the look! Did you know you could do that? The foil acts like a resist so you can really see the words now!

EASY! Gotta love it!
Now I hope you haven't forgotten about the GCD GIVEAWAY!!!

This paper pack is going to go to some lucky person who shows me a masking technique on a project! I only have two entries so far so your chance for winning is pretty good! All you have to do is leave me a link in my comments section so I can go see where your project is!!! You have 14 days left to enter!!!

Have a great day!!!
 Hoping this for you!

Lucky

Lucky1

Hello! Rita Barakat here with another project for Clear Scraps! Today I used the flower shape in the XL Dazed kit! I had this scrap paper hanging around in my scraproom and decided to use it as a mask!

Lucky2  Lucky3

A little spray paint...Lucky4 Lucky5 Lucky6
And there it is! Easy right? Now if I had a whole sheet of paper I wouldn't have that line - but it's no big deal because this is just the beginning of the layout!

Lucky7

Cut out some shapes(Crafty Secrets), sprayed them with gold mist Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels). Added a picture, a journal tag (Jenni Bolin), a title, some pearls(Kaiser) and there you have it!
