Cricut Surprize!

Today I got an email with the subject matter "Winner:project corner and spotlight".
I am looking at it thinking "is this a joke" or "am I being set up for some crazy virus?"
It was from somebody I don't know; I know I should not have opened it but I did.
And I am so glad I did! It was the editor of the Cricut Chirp, from Cricut.com! I had sent them a copy of this layout (below) in the beginning of January and they picked it to be featured in their newsletter! WHOO HOO! (published 2/2/2009!) This layout was so fun to do! I especially loved making the butterflies!
I love the fall, especailly the colors. They make the best backgrounds for beautiful kids! This is a at a local pumpkin patch, we go there every year and the kids love it! The colors for this layout were inspired by the pictures.

I love scrapbooking, the creative aspect, journaling the stories, especially the pictures. I love leaving a leagacy for my kids that speaks to their hearts and will always do so - even when I'm gone. They know that they are important, loved and that they have made me a better person just by being here! Gotta love those kids! (p.s. if you click on the pictures you can see them much biggger!)

Winter Blues

Today it was 28 degrees, it seemed alot colder because of the winds. What a better way to beat the winter blues than to scrapbook summmer pages? This is baby boy #3 just enjoying being a kid! Summer fun: the sun, water and bubbles! Oh how I miss the sun!

Our little ones were out of school today going stir crazy in the house! Makes you really long for summer and the outdoors!

I hope where you are is warmer than here!

Jekyll and Hyde!

This is my favorite layout right now. I love these pictures because they have captured the essence of our youngest! You could see these little expressions on any given day if candy is involved!
She just cracks me up!

Click on the layout below so you can read the journaling, it's pretty funny.

Oh...do we give her candy? Yeah, in moderation. We have to hide it if we have it in the house. And we never give her any candy if we have somewhere important to go!

Thanks for looking!

I dare you to move

Since this is the first "official day" I figure I should start with a layout I did of myself, Don't get used to it because most times you won't even find me in a pic! I prefer taking them, although I did take these myself - an experiment, not bad. The journaling is one of my favorite songs "Dare you to move" by Switchfoot. The hidden journaling is about a a time when I really felt like I was being attacked, and I was - but I found out later I was standing in the gap for someone else. Ok, you ever pray that God would use you? This was not what I had in mind! Of course His ways are not our ways and He knows better than me! Now that it's over I'm glad He was able to use me to help someone else, and it did make me stronger.

The lyrics were perfect for the situation. "I dare you to move, I dare you to move, I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor. I dare you to move, I dare you to move like today never happened, like today never happened...Maybe redemption has stories to tell. Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell. Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go? Salvation is here."

It's a new season

So I finally made the move to the digital age and started a blog! I will be posting layouts so out of town family members and friends can see the kids as they grow so quickly! Hopefully this will help me to journal more faithfully! It's a new season for me, with God's help it'll be a good one!.
